Job summary

Flex-O-Glass, a leading plastics manufacturer, is seeking a Production Manager for our Chicago, IL facility. You will lead a team across production lines, supervise supervisors and staff, and ensure safe, efficient operation to meet quality standards.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday 6am–2:30pm, with additional shifts as needed. The role demands 5–7 years of production leadership, strong organization, and the ability to train and coach staff while upholding OSHA and company policies.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years manufacturing experience in a leadership role.
• Able to pass pre-employment screening processes.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Must have strong organizational and leadership skills.

Our company is currently searching a member to join our Production team as a Production Manager who will work to provide support across our plant. This position will work within a team of other production staff and will be based in our Chicago, IL facility. This role will require candidates to be able to work Monday - Friday typically 6am - 2:30pm and other times as needed to meet business needs.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

• Ensure all production lines are operating at proper speeds and proper output levels while adhering to company's established quality policies and productivity standards.
• Oversee all production supervisors, crews, and janitorial staff
• Maintain efficient and safe working conditions of all machines
• Manage all plant start-up and shutdown procedures
• Ensure all quality control procedures are implemented and adhered to company standards
• Manage raw material receiving procedures and notify management of any concerns
• Ensure strict compliance and adherence to all established health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Manage and coordinate production schedules and provide completion estimates based on manpower and equipment availability.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain machine functionality
• Ability to coach and train new hires and production supervisors on all machines and continually develop existing employees on building proficiency.
• Manage employee disciplinary and accountability procedures when needed
• Proper understanding of raw materials and verify correct blend of materials for each product line.
• Other duties may be assigned at times to meet facility and company needs.

Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5-7 years previous manufacturing experience in a leadership role
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Ability to work independently and has excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to define problems, collect data, draw valid conclusions
• Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
• Able to multitask and manage competing priorities
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
• Ability to supervise and lead team, promote teamwork, and champion company culture
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts and overhead cranes
• General computer skills including use of manufacturing software
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders regularly
