Job summary

Quanex Building Products Corp. in Statesville, NC seeks a Production Manager II to lead shop floor operations including production, shipping/receiving, maintenance, and grounds.

You will establish leadership, ensure on-time orders, and drive continuous improvement with lean practices and ERP systems. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or business administration and 7+ years of manufacturing management experience, with strong knowledge of production, supervision, and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or Business Administration; 7+ years in a managerial role within manufacturing.
• Experience in production, production control, engineering and supervision.
• Fundamental understanding of lean manufacturing and ERP/scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Establishes leadership to area of assigned responsibility to support safety, employment, labor relations, and training.
• Ensures all production orders are completed on schedule, per budget and quality levels.
• Develops and trains personnel in manufacturing processes, JIT, quality assurance, safety and continuous improvement.
• Works with materials to achieve proper inventory turns per service objectives.
• Manages weekly production planning forecasts based on inputs from Plant Manager, CS, Materials, Eng., and Sales.
• Ensures quality system implementation and 100% on-time delivery.
• Supports plant initiatives on safety, quality, production, and continuous improvement.
