Job summary

Veritas Steel, America’s premier steel bridge fabricator, is seeking a Production Manager for its Palatka facility. The role oversees multiple departments across shifts, focusing on throughput, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Production Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Thorough understanding of lean and six sigma principles and demonstrated success in implementation of principles.
• Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management.
• Familiarity with business and financial principles.
• Excellent communication skills and leadership ability.
• Well-organized and analytical.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• 3rd shift hours are Fri-Sun 5am - 5pm and Thurs or Mon 5am-5pm to make 4/12hr days.

Responsibilities

• Manages assigned areas/departments within the facility, including all work performed in assigned area.
• Maintains housekeeping, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborates with Production Scheduler to understand production requirements and provide feedback on gaps.
• Ensures teams operate within designed fabrication plans and assists in improving efficiency.
• Plans work and manages labor for efficient execution.
• Executes schedule with emphasis on safety, quality, timeliness, impact, and cost.
• Coaches and evaluates area leads and team performance.
• Participates in recruiting, training, and onboarding of new department employees.
• Provides direction, supervision, counseling on performance, and training as needed.
