Job summary

Pio Custom Cabinetry seeks an experienced Production Manager to lead our architectural millwork operations in Illinois. You will drive production planning, scheduling, and cross-functional coordination from engineering to installation, while advancing safety, quality, and efficiency across the shop floor.

You will mentor teams, optimize processes, monitor KPIs, and partner with project management to meet deadlines and budgets.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in manufacturing or millwork.
  • Architectural millwork or custom cabinetry experience is required.
  • Approximately 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Understanding of drawings moving from engineering to installation.
  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, capacity management, and team leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Degree not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead production planning, scheduling, and capacity management.
  • Coordinate engineering/programming, CNC, fabrication, assembly, quality control, packing, shipping, logistics, and installation.
  • Allocate manpower and resources based on production needs and capacity.
  • Establish production priorities and help prevent unnecessary overtime and firefighting.
  • Ensure drawings, revisions, materials, and hardware are ready before production.
  • Identify and solve production constraints, quality issues, delays, and rework.
  • Coordinate purchasing based on production schedules, material lead times, inventory, project changes, and schedule risk.
  • Develop and improve production systems, processes, and KPIs.
  • Lead, coach, and develop production employees and subcontractors.
  • Improve cross-training and operational coverage.
  • Work closely with Project Management while maintaining clear operational production priorities.
  • Improve communication between engineering, production, project management, suppliers, shipping, and installation.
  • Use technology, automation, data, and AI where appropriate to improve operations.
  • Help build scalable systems that support Pio's continued growth.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our custom architectural millwork manufacturing operations.   • Exceptionally strong candidates may be considered even if they fall outside the general experience guidelines.
Schedule
  • Primarily Monday-Friday
  • Saturdays and additional hours may be necessary depending on production needs and project deadlines
