We are seeking an experienced Assistant Plant Manager to support the daily operations of our cabinet production facility. This leadership role works closely with the Plant Manager to oversee production, warehouse operations, quality, safety, and employee development while helping ensure operational goals are met.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong production background who enjoys coaching teams, improving processes, and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing daily production and warehouse operations.
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and performance feedback to the Production Manager, Warehouse Manager, and their teams.
- Help ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
- Monitor workflow and identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce waste.
- Support inventory management, material flow, and production planning.
- Promote and enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Assist with tracking and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs), including safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with all departments to resolve production issues, improve communication, and ensure operational goals are achieved.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the production process.
- Assist with equipment maintenance coordination and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of production leadership experience, preferably in cabinetry, woodworking, millwork, furniture manufacturing, or a related industry.
- Experience leading production teams and managers in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with production scheduling, inventory management, and workflow planning.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.

- Custom woodworking
- Millwork or architectural woodworking
- Furniture manufacturing
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma principles is preferred
