The 2nd Shift Production Manager is responsible for overseeing production operations and employees during the second shift. This position ensures production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and cost objectives are met while maintaining efficient operations and effective communication between shifts.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate production activities across processing and packaging departments.
- Plan and prioritize production operations with the Production Scheduler to meet production schedules and customer demand.
- Monitor production performance, labor efficiency, output, yield, and product quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational, equipment, and process issues to minimize downtime and production delays.
- Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and utilization of machinery and equipment.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures and ensure employee compliance.
- Lead, coach, train, and develop employees while maintaining accountability for performance and attendance.
- Manage labor, material, and waste costs to meet budgetary goals.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, R&D, Sales, and other departments to address production needs and support continuous improvement.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and management information.
- Enforce company policies, safety requirements, GMPs, food safety standards, and applicable regulations.
- Communicate production, staffing, safety, quality, and equipment concerns to management and other shifts.
- Drive continuous improvement to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or food production environment preferred.
- Manufacturing experience required.
- Ability to work a 2nd shift schedule.

- Ability to work in a production environment with exposure to machinery and varying temperatures.
Location Requirement:
This position requires regular on-site attendance during the 2nd shift. Relocation assistance is not available.
