Job summary

Talently in Walterboro, SC is seeking a Production Manager for 2nd shift (7pm-7am) to lead daily production activities, ensure safety, meet schedules, and drive continuous improvement.

You will coach and mentor the shift team, coordinate staffing and workflows, manage budgets with Maintenance and Logistics, and ensure compliance with batch records, SOPs, ISO and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, or related field
• 5+ years of manufacturing or production leadership experience
• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and 5S
• Comprehensive OSHA knowledge and safety policy enforcement
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis for metrics

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities to meet schedules safely, efficiently, and on time.

• Develop, coach, and mentor production employees, manage performance, and oversee training and cross-training programs.
• Manage departmental budgets, inventory of supplies, and equipment reliability with Maintenance and Logistics.

• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and 5S principles.
• Comprehensive understanding of OSHA safety regulations and ability to enforce safety policies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to analyze production data for data‑driven decisions.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience in chemical, specialty chemical, coatings, plastics, or related manufacturing industries.
• Background working within an ISO‑certified manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with ERP or manufacturing execution systems (MES).
• Lean Six Sigma certification or formal continuous improvement training.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
