Job summary

camacollc is seeking a Production Manager to lead the production department on the plant floor and in the office. You will oversee staffing, set priorities, and coordinate with maintenance and quality to maximize output and efficiency.

This role requires diverse leadership, a strong focus on safety and quality, and collaboration with suppliers and customers. Responsibilities include directing production activities, implementing improvements, and managing headcount within budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing management, a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 8+ years of experience, or equivalent.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 Quality Standards.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel including customers & suppliers.
  • Knowledge of related safety requirements.
  • Supervisory Responsibility: manages all employees of the department.
  • This position requires regular office and plant floor work.
  • Position demands adherence to safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the production department personnel.
  • Explain and direct production activities and establish production priorities.
  • Coordinate production activities with maintenance and quality to obtain optimum production and utilization of resources.
  • Implement operating methods to improve product quality and eliminate problems.
  • Work with human resources to manage headcount according to budget and policies.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities including training, planning, directing, performance appraisals, and discipline.
  • Revise production schedules due to equipment issues or problems.
  • Consult with engineering on machine modifications to improve production/quality.
  • Manage special projects requested by General Manager.
  • Frequent communication with management and plant personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PurposeThe production manager is responsible for production-related communication flow and coordination between all company resources. This includes accountability for staffing, administration, production, quality, materials, equipment, schedule, cost, safety, housekeeping and the financial performance of the plant.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Manage the production department personnel.
  2. Explain and direct production activities and establish production priorities.
  3. Coordinate production activities with maintenance and quality to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.
  4. Implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operation problems and to improve product quality.
  5. Work with human resources to establish and maintain corporate policies and manage overall headcount according to the budget and sales.
  6. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. These responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; performance appraisals; rewarding and discipline; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
  7. Revise production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems.
  8. Consult with engineering relative to modifications of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products, or when developing new lines for a new product.
  9. Manages special projects as requested by the General Manager.
  10. Frequent communication with all levels of management, corporate support groups, Quality Assurance, and plant personnel.
  11. Responsible for related safety requirements.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
