Leader Tech is a world leading innovator and manufacturer of EMI shielding products for circuit boards, electronic enclosures, interconnect cables and Thermal solutions founded in 1984.The Company serves a diverse commercial and military customer base from its Global EMI Shielding Technology Center located in Tampa, Florida. Every detail of the company’s one-of-a-kind manufacturing facility is tailor-engineered to streamline and improve customer service, engineering and manufacturing processes.

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor leads approximately 20 to 25 employees performing air press forming and related manufacturing operations for EMI shielding products. The position is accountable for employee safety, product quality, production schedule execution, labor performance, documentation accuracy, and continuous improvement.

The supervisor converts production requirements into daily work assignments, confirms that employees have the correct materials, tooling, instructions, and training, and addresses constraints that could affect scheduled starts or customer commitments. The supervisor ensures compliance with applicable AS9100, ISO, customer, and Leader Tech requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Production Schedule and Delivery
  • Translate the production schedule into daily labor, equipment, tooling, material, and work-center priorities.
  • Assign work based on production priority, employee qualifications, available capacity, cross-training needs, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor scheduled starts, completions, WIP, output, labor efficiency, downtime, and department capacity throughout the shift.
  • Identify material, tooling, maintenance, engineering, staffing, and quality constraints early; develop recovery plans and collaborate unresolved risks.
  • Coordinate schedule changes and production priorities with Production Control and affected departments while protecting customer commitments.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and hold approximately 20 to 25 employees accountable for performance, attendance, conduct, safety, and documentation.
  • Set clear daily expectations, conduct shift meetings, provide timely feedback, and address performance concerns with Human Resources when appropriate.
  • Manage staffing, attendance, timekeeping, cross-training, qualification records, and coverage for absences or changing production demand.
  • Plan and approve department overtime within company policy and operational requirements.
Quality and Compliance
  • Ensure employees use the current drawings, routers, bills of material, work instructions, specifications, inspection plans, and approved process requirements.
  • Maintain accurate production, labor, scrap, material, training, inspection, and traceability records in SYSPRO and other required systems.
  • Protect product identification, material status, lot traceability, and segregation throughout production and handling.
  • Stop or contain production when a safety, quality, documentation, or product-conformity concern exists and notify the appropriate support functions.
  • Support nonconformance investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, audits, and implementation of approved process changes.
Safety and Operations
  • Enforce machine guarding, lockout tagout, PPE, housekeeping, ergonomic, and safe material-handling requirements.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses promptly, document required information, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Confirm that only trained and authorized employees operate equipment or perform assigned processes.
  • Provide hands-on production support when trained and authorized without compromising supervisory coverage.
Continuous Improvement and Coordination
  • Improve setup time, process flow, labor utilization, output, capacity, scrap, rework, and workplace organization.
  • Use production data and structured problem-solving methods to identify causes, implement countermeasures, and confirm results.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Tooling, Production Control, Shipping, and other production departments.
  • Recommend equipment, tooling, staffing, training, and process improvements based on operational needs and documented performance.
Performance Measures

Performance will be evaluated using schedule and start performance, output, labor efficiency, scrap, rework, attendance, safety performance, documentation accuracy, and completion of assigned improvement actions.

Requirements
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five or more years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • At least three years of direct production-supervision experience preferred, ideally leading 15 or more employees.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, medical, or another regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with forming, stamping, press operations, metal fabrication, or assembly preferred. Air press setup experience is not required.
  • Experience using an ERP or manufacturing system required. SYSPRO and Excel experience preferred.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to lead employees, resolve conflict, communicate expectations, and provide effective performance feedback.
  • Working knowledge of production scheduling, labor planning, controlled documentation, product traceability, and nonconforming material controls.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, work instructions, routers, bills of material, specifications, inspection requirements, and production data.
  • Practical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, tooling, process controls, root-cause analysis, and corrective action.
  • Strong written, verbal, computer, organizational, and time-management skills.
Work Schedule and Authority

The regular schedule is 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Overtime, weekend work, and alternate-shift coverage may be required. The supervisor may approve department overtime within company policy and has authority to stop production for safety or quality concerns.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The position requires regular standing and walking on the manufacturing floor, along with bending, reaching, and lifting at least 50 pounds. The employee may encounter moderate noise, dust, odors, oils, fumes, moving equipment, and other normal manufacturing conditions. Required PPE may include safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and safety-toe footwear. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions.

Additional Duties

The supervisor may perform other duties as assigned based on business and operational requirements .
