Job summary

Bellisio Foods in Jackson, OH is seeking a Production Manager to lead the assigned production area and supervise the Production Supervisors. Under the Director of Manufacturing you will ensure quality, safety, HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs are followed while meeting production schedules.

You will drive continuous improvement by tracking efficiency, coordinating with plant managers, and guiding HR to address performance issues. Strong leadership and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and College degree preferred, but not required.
• 3-5 years’ experience in management.
• Understanding of food manufacturing GMPs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Organized time manager with demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
• Ability to function well under pressure.
• Demonstrated proficiency in communication, documentation and time management skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Model and enforce safety policies and practices, HACCP procedures, GMPs/SSOPs and other company policies.
• Responsible for inventory of all materials used in department and finished goods.
• Assist Supervisors to resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions.
• Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
• Review resumes and conduct interviews for qualified candidates for any open front line supervisor position within department.
• Supervise, lead, and train department Production Supervisors.
• Evaluate Supervisors during their introductory period and assess job performance.
• Monitor Supervisors job performance; coach, affirm, counsel, and discipline as needed.
• Consult with Human Resources to determine actions for Supervisors who do not meet standards.
• Observe subordinates' usage of HighJump and ensure data integrity.
• Schedule Supervisors and approve payroll hours, including overtime and PTO.
• Review and approve pay adjustments per wage schedule in the bargaining agreement.
• Schedule annual inspections.
• Collaborate with other Plant Managers.
• Track schedule attainment and efficiency; use data to plot improvements.
• Confirm packaging components and materials are available to meet production schedule.
• Ensure operation of production line equipment; call for repairs and assess new equipment/techniques.
• Provide manufacturing information by compiling and analyzing production performance records.

Production Manager

The Manager is responsible for the direction and leadership of assigned production area and the Production Superintendents in that section . U nder the direction of the Director of Manufacturing , the Production Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety and GMP’s of the products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Model and enforce company safety policies and practices, HACCP procedures, GMP’s / SSOP’s and other company policies.

Responsible for inventory of all materials used in department and finished goods.

Assist Supervisors to resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action, as necessary

Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

Review resumes and conduct interviews for qualified candidates for any open front line supervisor position within department.

Supervise, lead, and train department Production Supervisors.

Evaluate Supervisors during their introductory period and make determinations on ability of job performance.

Monitor Supervisors job performance . Coach, affirm, counsel, and discipline as needed.

Consult with Human Resources to determine course of action for Supervisors who do not meet the standard requirements.

Review and approve any proposed adjustment in employee pay rates and ensure proper rate of pay according to wage schedule outlined in collective bargaining agreement.

Collaborate with other Plant Managers.

Track schedule attainment, efficiency rates, and other production metrics and utilize this data to plot strategies for improvement.

Confirm all packaging components and materials are available and ready for Supervisors and their teams to be run to meet the production schedule.

Ensure operation of production line equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating , sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.

Qualifications:

HS Diploma and College degree preferred, but not required

3 -5 years’ experience in management

Understanding of food manufacturing GMP’s

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Organized time manager with demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities

Ability to function well under pressure

Demonstrated proficiency in communi cation, documentation and time management skills

Ability to lift 50 lbs.
