Production Manager – Large-Scale Manufacturing Operations

Compensation: $120,000–$140,000/year + bonus opportunity

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager with a background leading large-scale manufacturing operations in a complex, multi-shift environment.
This position supports a manufacturing organization of approximately 700–800 employees and requires a proven manager-of-managers who is comfortable leading through multiple layers of managers, supervisors, leads, and skilled production personnel.
The ideal candidate has experience in a 500+ employee manufacturing environment and brings a strong background in heavy industrial manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical assembly, engineered equipment, or other complex production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale manufacturing operations across multiple departments, production areas, and shifts.
- Provide leadership through Production Managers, Supervisors, Leads, and frontline production personnel.
- Plan labor, capacity, equipment, and resource requirements based on backlog and forecasted workload.
- Drive execution against safety, quality, cost, productivity, schedule, and on-time delivery objectives.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Planning, Project Management, and Operations leadership.
- Monitor production KPIs and implement corrective actions to address performance gaps.
- Develop managers and supervisors through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and accountability.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, standard work, process improvement, and productivity initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HSE programs, safe work practices, and Lockout/Tagout requirements.
- Support labor forecasting, operating budgets, capital planning, and manufacturing cost control.
- Ensure production meets engineering specifications, quality requirements, and customer/project schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing or industrial operations experience.
- 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
- Experience leading within a large-scale manufacturing organization of 500+ employees.
- Demonstrated experience managing through multiple levels of leadership, including managers, supervisors, and frontline leaders.
- Experience overseeing multiple production departments and/or shifts.
- Strong background in heavy industrial manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical assembly, engineered equipment, or similarly complex manufacturing.
- Demonstrated responsibility for production scheduling, workforce/capacity planning, safety, quality, cost, productivity, and delivery performance.
- Strong experience partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain/Purchasing, Planning, and other operational functions.
Preferred Technical Experience
Experience with several of the following is highly desirable:
- Pumps, motors, valves, and control valves
- Process piping and instrumentation
- Skid-mounted or modular equipment
- HVAC or large mechanical systems
- Fabrication, welding, machining, and mechanical assembly
- P&IDs, piping isometrics, and engineering assembly drawings
- ERP/MRP manufacturing systems
- ISO-certified manufacturing environments
- Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement
