ITW Medical, a division of ITW, is comprised of two highly respected brands—Coeur and Filtertek—supplying critical filtration and flow control solutions to global OEMs, serving surgical, infusion, bioprocessing and diagnostic imaging end markets.
Summary
The Production Manager will report to the Operations Manager and provide leadership to the day-to-day operation in the Hebron, IL plant. They will focus on safety, communication and accountability for shift leads and technical leads.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive ownership between supervisors and their team for JHA, JST and retraining processes.
- Define and track job-specific trainings based on job hazard assessments.
- Document regular safety conversations and drive accountability to safety procedures.
- Partner with the Quality Manager to implement best practices, procedures, corrective actions and to prepare for audits.
- Drive ownership between supervisors and their teams for containment of suspect product.
- Define standard practices and expectations to minimize scrap, rework and expedited freight and to drive consistency in production processes.
- Implement expectations around start‑ups and set‑ups that allow for accountability and ownership of every start‑up in the plant.
- Partner with management team, manufacturing engineers and other leaders to ensure on‑time delivery of quality parts.
- Communicate expectations to supervisors so they can take responsibility for safety, quality and production goals each day.
- Cascade and drive progress on facility goals, especially safety, cost of quality, conversion cost and other focused costs.
- Support the Annual Plan (AP) and Long‑Range Plan (LRP) process by proposing budget scenarios and staffing plans for future years.
- Lead and coach team on talent development for themselves and for their employees.
- Define targeted areas for development and distinctive strengths of each direct report.
- Conduct 1‑1 meetings every 1‑2 weeks with direct reports to give and receive feedback.
Qualifications
- 3‑5 years of experience in plastic injection molding manufacturing environment.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to operate within ERP, MES and other relevant computer systems.
- BS in Engineering or Business is preferred but not required if extensive work experience.
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Stand for full manufacturing shift, reach with arms extended and/or overhead, excellent hand dexterity, ability to bend, stoop, stretch.
- Ability to accommodate occasional flexible schedule when required and engage all shifts.
- Safely operate required equipment for performing job functions.
Compensation Information
Pay Range: $110,000–130,000 plus 10% AIP bonus. Compensation depends on relevant experience, education, specific skills, market level, geographic location and other factors as applicable by law.
