Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company in Garland, TX is seeking a Production Manager to lead the production supervision team and ensure production, quality, safety, and cost objectives are met. The role focuses on implementing the company vision and driving operational excellence.

You will manage schedules, oversee safety initiatives, and drive continuous improvement across shifts, with travel and a shift pattern of Thursday–Sunday, 6:00am–4:00pm. A bonus program and long-term incentives are available.

Job description

This position is responsible for managing production processes to ensure attainment of established goals for the facility, division, and Company. This role is responsible for supporting attainment of the operational goals in the production area through the implementation of the company's vision and strategy. This role supports site production, quality, safety, and compliance efforts through continuous improvement activities to ensure all requirements are completed in a timely manner and provides direct management of production supervisors.

This position is also eligible for bonus and long-term incentive compensation awards based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
• Must have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
• Must have a bachelor's degree or higher or have at least four (4) years of work experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility or in an operations environment
• Must have at least two (2) years of experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility or in an operations environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have at least one (1) year of experience in leadership role(s), supervising others, or leading teams
• Have Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, etc.)
• Have at least three (3) years of experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility
• Have prior work experience using timekeeping and/or production control systems
• Have prior work experience using a safety management system
• Have previous work experience in a multi-shift operation
