Job summary

Chairmans Foods is seeking a Production Manager to lead the plant's production department, ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to cost/quality targets. The role requires directing schedules, staffing, and processes while maintaining strict GMP and HACCP standards.

You will supervise and mentor supervisors, generate performance data, and drive continuous improvement across production lines in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering or Business or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 5+ years as production manager in food manufacturing setting required.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer-based applications
  • Able to work in varied temperature environments (0-50 deg.)
  • Heavy lifting required, some over 50lbs
  • Continuous movement, and must be able to stand for long periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Directly oversee activities related to production, processing and distribution of products.
  • Review production schedule and production orders to make decisions concerning staffing, inventory, work procedures considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Review operations and confer with staff to resolve production or processing problems.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports, activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity, goal achievement, and determine areas needing cost reduction and improvement.
  • Determine staffing requirements, train employees and oversee employees in production.
  • Directly trains, mentors and provides guidance to supervisors to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of production shifts.
  • Provides recommendations on how to streamline and improve the process and improve process capability.
  • Works closely with QA Manager to ensure food safety standards, GMP’s and HACCP plan are followed at all times by all staff

Job Description:

The Production Manager is responsible for the efficient management of the plant’s production department to ensure that established corporate and plant objectives, policies and goals are met, under safety and environmental guidelines. The Production Manager will plan, direct and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing product in accordance with cost, quality and quantity specifications.

This person carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies, OSHA regulations and applicable laws. May directly supervise employees or supervise through others.

  • Basic knowledge of production processes, raw materials, business/management principles
  • Ability to take initiative; self-motivated to produce results
