Job summary

Flex-O-Glass, Inc. in Chicago, IL is seeking a Production Manager to support our plant operations. This on-site role runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with additional hours as business needs require.

You will lead production supervisors and crews, ensuring smooth line performance and adherence to quality standards. You will manage start-up/shutdown procedures, safety/compliance programs, and raw material handling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5–7 years of manufacturing experience in a leadership role.
• Spanish bilingual preferred.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all production lines operate at proper speeds and output levels while following quality policies and productivity standards.
• Oversee all production supervisors, crews, and janitorial staff.
• Maintain efficient and safe working conditions of all machines.
• Manage all plant start-up and shutdown procedures.
• Ensure quality control procedures are implemented per company standards.
• Manage raw material receiving procedures and notify management of concerns.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Coordinate production schedules and provide completion estimates based on manpower/equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain machine functionality.
• Coach and train new hires and supervisors to build proficiency.
• Handle disciplinary and accountability procedures when needed.
• Understand raw materials and verify correct blend for each product line.
• Other duties as needed to meet facility/company needs.

Our company is currently searching a member to join our Production team as a Production Manager who will work to provide support across our plant. This position will work within a team of other production staff and will be based in our Chicago, IL facility. This role will require candidates to be able to work Monday - Friday typically 6am - 2:30pm and other times as needed to meet business needs.

Key Role And Responsibilities

• Proper understanding of raw materials and verify correct blend of materials for each product line.
• Other duties may be assigned at times to meet facility and company needs.

Skills

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5-7 years previous manufacturing experience in a leadership role
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Ability to work independently and has excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to define problems, collect data, draw valid conclusions
• Possess effective written and verbal communication skills
• Able to multitask and manage competing priorities
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
• Ability to supervise and lead team, promote teamwork, and champion company culture
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts and overhead cranes
• General computer skills including use of manufacturing software
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders regularly
