THE·TEAM is seeking a Production Manager to lead the Charlotte large-format production operation, overseeing scheduling, staffing, inventory, and quality. You will partner with Design, Sales, Shipping, Warehouse, and Phoenix teams to ensure on-time delivery with consistent standards.

The role requires 5+ years in large-format production and at least 3 years in supervision, with strong planning, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. On-site role in Charlotte, NC.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own daily operation and performance of Charlotte production department.
• Schedule, staff, and allocate labor and equipment to meet deadlines.
• Identify capacity, staffing, equipment, material, or scheduling risks before impact.
• Make day-to-day decisions to maintain production flow and meet commitments.
• Participate in preproduction reviews for complex programs and validate feasibility.
• Coordinate with Phoenix production leadership to balance workload across facilities.

For more information, please visit the.team .JOB OVERVIEW:The Production Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day large-format production operation. This role owns production scheduling, staffing, workflow, inventory control, equipment performance, quality, safety, reporting, and overall execution to ensure projects are produced on time and to established quality standards. As the senior production leader, the Production Manager is accountable for identifying operational risks, making informed production decisions, and providing leadership with accurate visibility into facility performance. The Manager partners closely with Project Management, Sales, Design, Shipping, Warehouse, and Phoenix production leadership to maintain consistent operating standards, share best practices, and balance workload across sites.WHAT YOU'LL DO:Operational LeadershipOwn the daily operation and performance of the Charlotte production department, including scheduling, job prioritization, labor allocation, equipment allocation, and workflow.Ensure projects are appropriately staffed and scheduled to meet committed production deadlines while maintaining quality and safety expectations.Review upcoming workload and proactively identify capacity, staffing, equipment, material, or scheduling risks before they impact project delivery.Make day-to-day operational decisions necessary to maintain production flow and meet client commitments.Participate in preproduction reviews for complex or high-volume programs to validate feasibility, timelines, material selection, equipment requirements, and finishing approach.Coordinate with Phoenix production leadership to balance workload, transfer production when appropriate, and align operating standards across facilities.Own production inventory control for substrates, inks, consumables, finishing supplies, and regularly stocked production materials.Maintain appropriate minimum and maximum stocking levels for critical materials based on usage, lead times, and production forecasts.Ensure materials are accurately received, identified, stored, issued, and accounted for, and oversee regular cycle counts and physical inventory verification.Investigate inventory discrepancies, aging stock, damaged materials, and excess inventory and implement corrective actions when necessary.Partner with Purchasing, Warehouse, Project Management, and production teams to anticipate material requirements for upcoming projects and communicate material risks.Maintain accountability for material waste, scrap, and specialty project materials and drive improvements in material utilization.Team ManagementLead, coach, and develop print operators, finishers, sewers, and other production employees, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, communication, and ownership.Establish clear performance expectations, conduct performance reviews, and provide regular coaching and feedback.Oversee onboarding, training, and cross-training to improve team flexibility and reduce operational dependencies.Identify staffing needs based on production forecasts, workload, and equipment capacity and partner with leadership and HR on recruiting, development, performance management, and retention.Hold employees accountable for safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and established production procedures.Performance, Reporting & QualityOwn the accuracy and timely submission of Charlotte production reporting and provide weekly and monthly performance updates to leadership.Identify trends, risks, and performance gaps and develop corrective action plans when results fall below established expectations.Monitor reprints, rework, waste, and production errors, lead root-cause reviews for significantCross-Functional & Cross-Site LeadershipServe as the primary production contact for the Charlotte facility and provide clear communication regarding project status, capacity, production risks, and schedule changes.Partner with Project Management, Sales, and Design to resolve production requirements, feasibility concerns, file issues, and specification questions before they impact execution.Coordinate with Shipping and Warehouse teams to ensure completed projects flow efficiently through final quality control, packing, and shipment.Work closely with Phoenix production leadership to align processes, reporting, documentation, quality expectations, and operating standards across both facilities.Participate in leadership meetings and provide concise updates on Charlotte performance, challenges, corrective actionsWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:Required Skills and AbilitiesHands-on familiarity with wide-format printers such as HP, Durst, EFI, or similar platforms.Knowledge of materials commonly used in event and experiential environments, including vinyl, banner, fabric, mesh, adhesive vinyl, and rigid substrates.Strong understanding of production capacity planning, equipment utilization, and continuous improvement.Experience managing both print and finishing operations.Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.Calm, decisive, accountable, and solutions-oriented under pressure.Must be flexible and willing to work to meet project and customer requirements, which may require evenings, weekends, and holidays.Education and Experience5+ years of experience in large-format, grand-format, manufacturing, or similar production operations, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.Strong understanding of large-format print production workflows, substrates, finishing processes, sewing, cutting, material handling, and quality control.Demonstrated ability to manage production schedules, staffing, competing priorities, and changing deadlines in a high-volume environment.Experience with inventory control, material management, cycle counting, and production planning.Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to interpret production metrics and translate data into operational decisions.Excellent leadership, written communication, verbal communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Experience with ERP, MIS, scheduling, inventory, or production management systems preferred.Experience with event, experiential, environmental graphics, signage, or related production
