Job summary

MCC, a global leader in premium labels, seeks a Production Manager for its Wisconsin plant. You will oversee overall site production operations, promote safety and quality, and drive cost-effective performance while developing teams to meet corporate objectives.

You will lead continuous improvement efforts, manage staffing needs, and coordinate lean initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste, ensuring alignment with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on leader with integrity and strong business acumen.
  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or Business or equivalent with leadership experience.
  • 7+ years experience in Operations or Lean Management.
  • Printing industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to apply structured problem-solving to determine root causes and effective countermeasures.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities required to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met.
  • Ensure compliance with safety initiatives and improve safety performance.
  • Execute quality control plans and drive variation reduction.
  • Assess on-time delivery performance and develop improvement actions.
  • Manage labor, overtime, and expenditures to control costs.
  • Determine staffing requirements weekly and redeploy resources as priorities shift.
  • Lead Lean initiatives to improve productivity and reduce lead times.

The Production Manager is responsible for overall site production operations. Creates a work environment which promotes safety, quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness. Effectively develops teams that can achieve corporate improvement objectives. Accountable for all aspects of plant production performance while ensuring objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner. Drives best practices through the organization and leads processimprovement.

Responsibilities:
  • Directly,andthroughdelegation,coordinatesactivitiesrequiredtoassuresafety,quality,delivery,and cost meet specified targets.

  • Executesqualitycontrolplansforcompliance tostandardsanddrivesvariationreductionwithintheprocess.

  • Holdsdirectresponsibilityformanagingcostbyeffectivemanagementoflabor,overtime,andexpenditures.
  • Determinestaffingrequirementsweeklyandre-deployresourcesduringtheweekasneededtoaddress any shifting staffing needs or changes in priorities and scheduling.
  • Reviewsandanalyzesproductionreportstodeterminerootcausesofvariancefrombudget,anddevelops and executes corrective actions, using structured root cause analysis, MDI and Policy Deploymentmethodologies.
  • UsingLeanprinciples,formteamsandinvolvepeopletoimproveproductivity,decreaseleadtimes, reduce waste and attain customer quality requirements.
  • Reviewsandanalyzesproductionreportstodeterminerootcausesofvariancefrombudgetanddevelops and executes corrective actions.
  • RecommendandinitiatecostreductionprogramscenteredaroundcapitalimprovementswhereROIand pay back criteria are favorable.
  • Promotes,prepares,andparticipatesinkaizenactivities.Sustainsresults.
  • FacilitatestheexecutionofdailyGembawalkby assuringtheproperutilizationofhour-by-hour,SQDC boards and War Room tools.
  • InconjunctionwithHumanResourceManager,coordinatesappropriate“requiredtooperate”and “required on roles” staffing levels.
  • Directstheeffortsofplantsupervisiontoensuretheconsistentapplicationofhumanresourcepolicies, procedures, and plant rules.Assures adherence to safety accountability guidelines.
  • Coachesandmentorsteammemberstoassuretheirongoingdevelopment
  • Staysabreastofnewtrendsanddevelopmentsinmethods,techniques,equipment,tools,materials,and supplies,whichmightbeincorporatedinto theproductionprocesstoincreaseefficiencyorbetteruseof resources.Researches and recommends capital equipment purchases.
  • Participatesinspecialprojectsandperformsotherdutiesasassigned.
Qualifications:
  • Ahands-onleaderthatisarolemodelwithhigh integrity,positiveinfluence,andstrongbusinessacumen that embraces change, possesses a continuous improvement mindset, and has a passion for exceeding customer and company expectations.
  • DegreeinEngineering,IndustrialTechnologyorBusinessorequivalent10yearsofstafflevelleadershipexperience.
  • Minimumof7years'experienceinOperationsand/orLeanManagement.
  • Printingindustryexperienceispreferred.
  • Experienceinbeingachangeagentincomplextransformationalactivities.
  • Significantexperienceinimplementationof Leanprincipalsastheyapplytomanufacturingoperations.
  • Ability toapplystructuredproblem-solvingmethodologiestodeterminerootcauseofproblemsand provide effective countermeasures.
