Job summary

Silgan Containers invites applications for a Production Management Development Trainee in Plover, WI. The program runs approximately eight to ten months and builds expertise in supervising production, daily processes, and equipment across union and nonunion plants.

You will learn to apply statistical process methods and basic quality tools, manage throughput, and enforce SOPs while developing staff and collaborating with plant teams across locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two+ years of experience in manufacturing or production operations, including setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• One+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, technical problem-solving ability, and commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills, with ability to coach and motivate production teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production and assist plant management in daily operations.
• Plan production and manage equipment and staffing to meet goals.
• Apply statistical process methods and basic quality tools (diagrams, flow charts, run charts, control charts).
• Manage throughput while ensuring safe, efficient use of hardware and materials.
• Enforce SOPs and assist with training and developing staff across locations.
