Job summary

OPW Global is seeking a Maintenance Technician to service and repair production equipment at our Cleveland, OH facility. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machinery, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems, following blueprints and manuals to minimize downtime.

The role requires 5–8 years of industrial maintenance, ability to lift 50+ pounds, and proficiency with CMMS and Office tools.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of technical/community college in mechatronics or electromechanical field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Ability to work 8-hour shifts and overtime as required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CMMS.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
  • Capability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, stand, bend, push, pull, climb, weather exposure, PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance support to meet internal and external customer needs while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Work on and engage with departmental projects, tasks, and objectives.
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, electronic, and electromechanical production equipment, using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical test equipment such as multimeters.
  • Assist with set-up activities and installation of new equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns of hydraulic, pneumatic, and high‑voltage electrical systems independently.
  • Work from layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose CNC equipment; perform maintenance, repair, and calibration on control systems of numerically controlled machines and related equipment.
  • Follow strict safety procedures and critical facility work rules, including chemical handling, SDS documents, safe work practices, and LOTO procedures.
  • Ensure a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
  • Complete all required safety program objectives and training.
  • Participate in cost‑reduction, continuous improvement, and LEAN programs.
  • Maintain high ethical standards, personal integrity, and clear communication at all levels.

Scope

Maintenance Technicians maintain and repair production equipment—including single‑spindle, multi‑spindle, CNC machines, testing equipment, and parts cleaners—to keep downtime minimal.

Responsibilities

Required Skills
  • Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and preventing maintenance for CNC equipment.
  • Electrical experience with 480VAC‑120VAC and 120VAC‑24VDC.
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics experience, with ability to read schematic drawings.
  • Strong mechanical skills related to power transmission, gear reducers, shafts, bearings/couplings, chain‑driven equipment, and pumps.
  • Basic knowledge of forklift preventive maintenance and light repairs.
  • Effective oral and written communication with operators, team leads, managers, engineers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in English comprehension and expression.
  • Basic math skills and reading, writing, and computational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with high quality and reliability.
