HSAGP (Hyundai-SK America Green power) Energy LLC. is Hyundai Motor Group and SK On' s joint venture company to produce batteries for electric vehicle batteries. The joint venture plans to invest $5 billion to build an EV battery cell plant in Bartow County, Georgia. Hyundai Motor Group and SK On will each hold a 50 percent stake in the joint venture. The new plant created by the two companies is expected to start manufacturing battery cells in the first half of 2026 with an annual production capacity of 35 GWh, enough to support the production of 300,000 EVs a year. The future Bartow County plant in northwest Georgia is strategically located near Hyundai Motor Group’s existing and planned U.S. facilities. Summary
The Assembly tech maintenance supervisor is responsible for core processes in EV battery manufacturing, including notching, vacuum drying, stacking, tab-welding, and packaging. He/She directly supervises and coordinates the activities of its team technicians. This role will work closely with other supervisors, Process engineers, Safety, Quality, and production team. They might be required to serve as coach/mentor for technicians both on regular and on-demand occasions depending on company needs and their qualifications.
Key areas of Responsibilities:
Maintenance: Tool & Mold Replacement and Management
- Regularly replace the fixturing tools (e.g., mold, cutter, sealing bar, brush etc.) required for production, adjust conditions, and ensure quality
- Inventory machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished
- Manage work orders by monitoring, organizing, and registering them
- Assign members based on the work order and track the inventory of tools used.
- Become familiar and efficient with all phases of the computer system required for managing spare parts
- Reviews and monitors all of maintenance (Preventive, Planned, Quality Maintenance) daily.
- Supervises, coordinate & assign technicians in a variety of skilled, semi-skilled and simple tasks in maintenance of and improvements for performance.
Support Process Engineering
- Line change-over/verification. Lead line changeovers, verify proper function and quality is met before releasing the line for full production.
- Support the development of Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify critical risks in the production processes with the Process Engineers
- Report incidents or malfunctions of equipment and inquire maintenance according to the trouble correspondence manual
- Become familiar with production processes, equipment, and spare parts
- Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs as needed
Work Environment/Safety Management
- Monitor and support production environment improvement on light of 3R (Right material, Right quantity, Right position) and 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)
- Ensure safety management by fostering a culture of safety awareness, conducting regular training, and adhering to established safety protocols. I actively monitor workplace conditions, identify potential hazards, and promptly implement corrective actions to maintain a secure environment for all shift members.
- Frequently works around machinery. Occasionally exposed to electrical energy, chemicals, noises, fumes, grease or oil.
Shift Management
Directly manage 6 technicians in your team and lead by example.
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)
- At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Advanced knowledge of operational tools and procedures obtained through work experience
- Microsoft Office proficiency (especially Excel)
- Night shift availability preferred but not required, unless specified during the interview
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing, especially in automotive, electrical component, and/or chemical manufacturing preferred
- Experience with LEAN, SPC, Six Sigma programs preferred
- Experience with MES preferred
- Measure the dimensions, thickness, etc with measurement tools.
- Prefer to reading and interpreting drawing (Auto cad, etc) (Not mandatory) but have to read the drawings
- Maintains files and keeps applicable maintenance records, review and report work order sheet
- Uses a computer; Works both alone and with depending on related assignments
Physical Requirement

- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms to include stoop, kneel, bend or crawl.
- Usual office environment, production, and construction sites
- Risks include noise (above 90 dB in a pressor room), high temperatures, and potential exposure to hazardous materials (e.g., Electrolyte, Bond)
- Clean and dry room environment.
- Wearing PPE is required and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and a respirator. Respirator fit test will be required based on functional area. A clean shave may be required accordingly upon request.
- Familiar with operating and managing of machine without fear, but keep safety first.
Shift Information
Straight Day and Night shift, Not rotating
Regular 2-2-3
- Work hour will start as daytime (8-5) only while training but eventually change to 12-hour shift once machines are running.
