Job summary

San Antonio Water System seeks a skilled maintenance technician to diagnose, repair and maintain water and recycled facility machinery, piping and equipment. You will perform predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance and document work orders in CMMS, using Microsoft Office.

You must have a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of mechanical maintenance experience, and a valid Texas Driver's License; note that TCEQ licenses are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years’ experience performing repairs and maintenance in the mechanical trade.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.
• TCEQ Class D Water License within 6 months and Class C Groundwater License within 12 months.
• Willing to climb up to 200 feet.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and resolves standard water or recycled facility machinery, piping and equipment problems.
• Performs predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance duties.
• Tracks and records information in work orders and CMMS; uses Microsoft Office.
• Performs diagnostic tests to solve routine problems.
• Repairs plant machinery and equipment using hoists, ladders, PPE, and hand tools.
• Dismantles and assembles components of facilities and equipment.
• Performs confined space entries in hazardous environments.
• Monitors mechanical equipment and makes functional adjustments.
