Job summary

TOPS Staffing is hiring for a Machine Operator in a growing union manufacturing facility. Entry-level position with opportunities to bid into more advanced departments as experience and seniority grow.

Starting pay is $20.00/hour on a 65-day contract to hire, with increases to $24.23 after 60 days, $28.46 after six months, and $32.69 after one year. Annual 4% raises, afternoon and night shifts, and overtime options are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience is helpful but not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• Ability to pass a mechanical and mathematical aptitude assessment.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to learn new equipment and production processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual, semi-automated, and automated production equipment.
• Run welding, assembly, T-bolt, V-band, and other specialized manufacturing machines.
• Load raw materials and production components into machines.
• Remove, inspect, and package finished products according to customer specifications.
• Monitor machine performance and make basic operating adjustments.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and minor mechanical repairs.
• Complete quality inspections throughout the production process.
• Accurately record production and quality information.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area using 5S principles.
• Work as part of a production team to meet daily production goals.
• Cross-train on multiple machines and departments as opportunities become available.

Pay Progression

• Starting Pay: $20.00/hour - 65 day contract to hire with TOPS Staffing
• After 60 Days: $24.23/hour
• After 6 Months: $28.46/hour
• After 1 Year: $32.69/hour
• Annual Raises: 4% scheduled increases

Shift Differentials

• Afternoon Shift: +$0.55/hour
• Night Shift: +$0.65/hour

Available Shifts

• Afternoon: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Night: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Monday-Friday schedule with voluntary overtime available during the week and weekends.
• Daylight shift opportunities become available through the company's internal bidding process.

What You'll Do
