Production Machine Operator (PMO) - WKND SHIFT

Job Purpose: The Production Machine Operator is responsible for operating various production machines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Operate all types of tools and machines necessary for the job, such as forming, punching, cutting, and other sheet metal machines, including hand tools.
  2. Use blueprints to select appropriate tooling and operate machinery to produce the required quality of product.
  3. Utilize existing control programs on various machines to create parts.
  4. Select the proper thickness and gauge of material as specified by shop documents.
  5. Perform visual inspection of parts before and after each operation, following inspection procedures to ensure quality standards.
  6. Secure and band material when transporting parts.
  7. Understand the routing process and input/retrieve information on a computer.
  8. Perform all tasks safely, efficiently, and productively according to company policy.
  9. Contribute to team efforts to produce quality products safely and efficiently.
  10. Maintain regular and timely attendance, including working mandatory overtime if required.
  11. Other duties as assigned by the company.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent, based on education and work experience.

Licenses/Certifications: N/A

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Accurately use precision measuring equipment such as tape measures, micrometers, squares, and protractors.
  • Read blueprints.
  • Basic math skills, including converting decimals to fractions and vice versa.
  • Operate computerized, automated equipment.

Core Competencies:

  • Ability to explain tasks clearly.

Training:

  • Orientation and company-provided training, including LOTO, powered pallet jacks, walkie, and barrel lifters training.
