Job summary

Keystone Distinction Group is seeking a skilled Production Machine Operator on 2nd shift to set up and run CNC and conventional machines. You will read blueprints, work with a variety of materials, and ensure parts meet exact specifications while maintaining quality and safety standards.

This role requires an Associate's degree or apprenticeship in Machine/Tool and Die Technology, or equivalent experience, plus 3-5 years in manufacturing with a quality-focused mindset.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or completion of an apprenticeship in Machine/Tool and Die Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience in a quality-focused environment.
  • Ability to set up and operate both conventional and CNC equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on mills, lathes, and drill presses.
  • Calculate and set controls for speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth/angle of cut, or enter and edit computerized machine control programs.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and make necessary adjustments.
  • Verify finished workpieces against specifications and perform trial runs to confirm settings or programmed data.
  • Assemble parts into complete assemblies and verify dimensions and alignment.
  • Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and programmers to resolve machining or assembly issues.
  • Build fixtures for drilling, milling, and turning operations.
  • Review engineering, sales, and manufacturing inputs for accuracy and communicate any needed corrections to maintain quality.
  • Support and sustain 5S, quality, and safety initiatives.
