Overview
Job in a Nutshell:
The Production Machine Feeder in the automated department is responsible for the daily setup and operation of the loading platform for the bulk foods packaging department at the Natural Grocers Distribution Center. The Machine Feeder position is a team-based, fast-paced, and physically demanding role, critical to the success of the automated packaging operation. This position involves maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices, housekeeping, and applicable food safety documentation.

Responsibilities
Main Responsibilities:
- Verify daily/weekly production schedules with Machine Operators.
- Ensure machine tooling is set up for the scheduled raw materials.
- Ensure accuracy and proper quantities of raw materials staged prior to loading.
- Inspect raw materials during loading and report quality concerns to QA.
- Feed raw materials into hoppers in a sanitary, accurate, and efficient manner.
- Maintain product flow throughout each production run.
- Keep complete and accurate records of raw materials entering production.
- Segregate allergen, non-allergen, organic, and non-organic products.
- Lead quick and efficient changeovers to minimize downtime.
- Complete documentation for changeovers, cleaning, and product specifications.
- Regularly remove waste and sweep work areas to maintain cleanliness.
- Assist with pallet jack operation as needed.
- Follow all SSOPs and food safety standards.
- Perform tasks safely to promote a safe working environment.

Qualifications
Recipe for Success:
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to obtain certification and operate an electric pallet jack safely.
- Provide backup support to Production Support as needed.
- Knowledge of GMP in food production preferred.
- Ability to manage product flow on multiple lines.
- Understanding of allergen categories and segregation requirements.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
- Experience with 5S and Lean manufacturing methodologies is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work in warm or cool seasonal environments.
