Job summary

Prysmian is seeking a Production Line Operator in Claremont, North Carolina. This role requires monitoring extrusion lines, performing machine maintenance, and ensuring cable quality. Ideal candidates should have a high school diploma, pass a skills test, and adhere to safety regulations.

The position offers a $1,500 Sign-on Bonus, 13 paid holidays, and multiple insurance benefits active from the first day. Flexibility for a 12-hour shift with a premium for night work is available, along with performance bonuses and a 401K match.

Qualifications

• Must visually distinguish 12 basic colors.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and roll reels between 200 and 800 lbs.
• Completion of background check and pre-employment drug testing required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production lines for quality and timely production.
• Perform machine startups and preventive maintenance as needed.
• Report production shortfalls and equipment issues swiftly.

What does it mean to be a Prysmian Production Line Operator?

• Monitor plastic extrusion or stranding lines while running to ensure quality/timely production of cables.
• Perform machine startups, changeovers and operator preventative maintenance as required.
• Perform required measurement checks to ensure cables are manufactured to quality specifications.
• Proactively report any production shortfalls, quality nonconformances, and equipment issues swiftly.
• Follows all safety, personal protective equipment, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Ability to pass the Skills Test with favorable results.
• Must be able to successfully complete the background check and pre-employment drug testing.
• Ability to visually distinguish 12 basic colors.
• Ability to stoop, bend at the waist, stand, and sit as needed to reach product while working up to 12 hours per shift.
• Loading and unloading of materials as needed with the ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Manual rolling of reels between 200 and 800 lbs. for short distances with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Warehouse/manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency of simple calculations, measurement tools, and hand tools.
• Ability to problem solve and show attention to detail.
• Experience with machine maintenance.
• Ability to have full range of motion in shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers for manipulation of product and work equipment.
