Job summary

Clayton Homes is hiring a Continuous Improvement Specialist for our Clayton Manufacturing unit in Texas. You will drive lean initiatives on the production floor, perform time studies, and coordinate improvements across cross-functional teams.

You will maintain SOPs, report KPIs, and support training for new equipment and processes. A 4-year degree and CI experience are preferred, with strong Excel skills and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience with process development and controlled documentation.
• Experience with lean principles and manufacturing systems.
• Proficient with Excel and other MS Office programs for data reporting.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to work with technology.
• Ability to identify documentation gaps and remedy quickly.
• Ability to create spreadsheets for data tracking.
• Experience maintaining complex business processes.
• Willingness to learn and grow as a leader.

Responsibilities

• Review production tasks to identify efficiencies.
• Conduct time studies, process mapping, and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with leaders to implement lean tools (5S, visual management, standard work, kaizen).
• Maintain SOPs and work instructions.
• Track KPIs for productivity, quality, and waste reduction.
• Lead daily/weekly improvement huddles with frontline teams.
• Coordinate training and documentation for new equipment/process changes.
• Ensure real-time visibility of performance metrics to leaders and teams.
• Assist in developing and maintaining cross-training skills matrix.
• Organize recognition programs and improvement campaigns.
• Support CI projects with scheduling meetings and reporting outcomes.
• Other duties as assigned.
