Job summary

UFP Structural Packaging, LLC is seeking a Production Management Trainee to build deep knowledge of plant operations and manufacturing processes. The role reports to a mentor and emphasizes structured on-the-job learning with limited discretion, preparing you for future leadership within our manufacturing network.

Responsibilities include mastering product costs, scheduling, budgeting, safety, and continuous improvement while touring facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline or equivalent work experience is required.
• Proficiency in the use of MS Excel spreadsheets is required.

Responsibilities

• Develops comprehensive knowledge of Company products and procedures through on-the-job training activities.
• Develops comprehensive knowledge of panel and lumber grades.
• Develops knowledge of lumber math and efficient utilization of materials and develops a full understanding of cuts and yields.
• Learns to operate the business system to perform administrative functions.
• Develops detailed knowledge of product costing.
• Develops an understanding of the production scheduling process.
• Develops knowledge of budgeting and expense control.
• Supervises activities in compliance with Company policies and laws.
• Gains knowledge of Continuous Improvement, efficiency standards and safety.
• Gains understanding of HR policies and practices.
• Tours other facilities to understand operations.
• Completes courses and assignments as directed.
• Prepares reports as required.
• Performs other duties as required.
