Job Title: Production Operator - SMT Lead

Job Functions: Production

Job Overview

Production Operator SMT Lead sets up and operates SMT machines and equipment. Reports to Production Supervisor and is located in Newark, CA.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for the overall operation of the assigned production line/unit that may include SMT automatic assembly and the following:
    • Offline feeder setup tear down and component recognition, SMT machine operating and Handload.
    • Must be able to train new SMT operators and assist SMT operators to learn new skills.
    • Effectively prioritize schedule to accommodate new priorities or to resolve material issues.
    • Setup, read and understand Set-up Sheets, Assembly Instructions, and Assembly Notes.
  2. Execute written/verbal instructions given by supervisor and monitor efficiency and quality of assigned routine tasks:
    • Read and follow work instructions and visual aids.
    • Check and inspect task results against predetermined standards.
    • Identify, communicate, and escalation production issues and problems.
  3. Perform other duties and tasks related to the Production Operator SMT Lead.
Key Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum education requirement is a High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of SMT automatic assembly equipment: Screen Printer (Panasonic NM-EJP1A), SPI (TRI7007), Pick & Place (Panasonic NM-EJM8A), Reflow Oven (Vitronics XPM3i).
  • Basic to Mid-Level knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • Basic to Mid-Level knowledge of ADP Workforce Now (Employee Self-Service Portal), preferred.
  • Basic knowledge with IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies (certified preferred).
  • Minimum 3-year work experience in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to stand in an eight-hour work shift with mandatory rest and lunch breaks.
