Job summary

Stella-Jones is seeking a Production Lead to drive safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This hands-on leadership role combines production support, team coordination, and planning to meet daily goals while upholding safety and environmental standards.

Reporting with the Production Supervisor, you will balance administrative duties (about 40%) with hands-on labor (about 60%), leading crews and coordinating processing activities across the plant.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain manufacturing operation plans, including program requirements, labor hours, production schedules, cycle times, and production costs.
• Coordinate daily processing activities with the Production Supervisor and provide recommendations to improve efficiency, productivity, and operational performance.
• Lead and direct the daily work of processing and maintenance crews.
• Cross-train employees to support business needs and operational flexibility.
• Instruct employees on the safe and proper operation of equipment.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Load and unload inbound white wood trucks, finished goods trucks, and pole charges.
• Support daily production activities to ensure workflows operate safely and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with all Company standards, including safety, environmental, quality, and operational procedures.
• Identify plant safety hazards and assist in accident investigations and corrective actions.
• Actively participate in and contribute to the Company safety program.
• Maintain accurate operational records, including inbound white wood truck counts, pole charge tallies, and production data entry into company systems.
• Communicate operational requirements, challenges, and performance updates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with crew members, other departments, and leadership.
• Ensure manufacturing areas, including framing, Penta pads, incisors, finished goods storage, and related work areas, are maintained in a clean, organized manner in accordance with 5S principles and environmental BMP standards.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and operational excellence initiatives throughout the facility.
• Perform other related responsibilities as assigned to support plant operations and business objectives.
