Job summary

Smithfield Foods is hiring General Production team members to help deliver safe, high‑quality meat products. You will work with hand tools, knives, and machinery on a production line, maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency while supporting teammates.

Competitive hourly pay starting at $22.48 with a $1.00 shift differential for 2nd shift, and comprehensive benefits including health insurance and retirement plans. Overtime may be required based on production demands.

Qualifications

• General Production tasks involving hand tools, knives, machinery and other equipment.
• Must be able to work scheduled shifts and overtime as needed.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand tools, knives, and machinery to process meat products.
• Maintain safety and quality standards on the line.
• Keep accurate department time and production records.
• Verify labels and dates, ensure correct materials and rack tags.
• Assist with training of line operators and labor staff.
• Report to supervisor and help oversee operations.
• Support problem solving and process improvements on the line.
• Interpret and enforce company policies and GMPs.
• Perform setup, teardown, and equipment adjustments.
