Job summary

Watchfire Signs, LLC in Houston is seeking a Production Manager to lead planning and resources on the shop floor, reporting to the Director of Operations. This is an advanced role requiring proficiency in multiple manufacturing disciplines and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma, OSHA 1910, and federal/state labor laws, with excellent communication and time-management skills to coordinate production

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading/writing English; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years in a Supervisory or Management role.
• Minimum 5+ years of Manufacturing/Production experience.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and organization of all shop resources with Supervisors.
• Ensure production is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all specifications.
• Exhibit a dependable and positive role model for direct reports.
• Conduct Product Audits to ensure Quality and Design standards are met.
• Support areas of growth for team members by motivating and rewarding success.
• Lead the selection of new employees, and support subsequent onboarding steps.
• Provide coaching and corrective action for employees not meeting expectations.
• Provide shop floor resources and time for team members to participate in projects with support staff to continuously improve the department.
• Assist the Manufacturing and Service Manager on manufacturing capabilities and efficient production methods, including opportunities for improvement on product design.
• Complete safety reviews of workspaces, processes, and hazardous materials and lead support staff to implement the best safety practices.
• Audit completion of preventative maintenance and evidence that work was completed correctly and on a regular basis.
• Provide leadership and stability to direct reports during periods of change and implementation of new duties by planning training steps in advance and preparing the team.
• Stand, walk, stoop, knee, and crouch in a tightly configured piece of equipment.
• Occasionally lift and carry 75 pounds.
• Travel of 10% or less.
