Job summary

Raycap Inc. is seeking a Production Lead in North Charleston, SC to direct Copper Machine Operators and ensure production schedules, safety, and quality targets are met. This role coordinates work, communicates delays, and supports training across shifts.

The candidate will mentor operators, troubleshoot equipment issues, verify drawings and specifications, and uphold housekeeping and safety standards on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead, direct, and coordinate the work of others.
• Ability to troubleshoot production and equipment‑related issues and escalate when needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across company systems.
• Ability to read 2D drawings, blueprints, specs, and work instructions.
• Use of basic measurement instruments to verify specifications.
• Knowledge of hand tools and manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily direction and guidance to Copper Machine Operators to meet production priorities and schedules.
• Immediately communicate delays, equipment issues, material shortages, quality concerns, or risks to Production Management.
• Assign and coordinate work among Copper Machine Operators based on priorities and capabilities.
• Verify team members are logged into the PPCC job for each product.
• Monitor machine operations and processes to identify issues affecting productivity, quality, or schedule.
• Assist operators with machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and basic problem solving.
• Ensure understanding and adherence to quality and drawing requirements.
• Work with Quality and other departments to resolve production or quality issues.
• Promote accurate production practices, instructions, and SOPs.
• Maintain a neat, organized production area and enforce housekeeping.
• Support training and development of Copper Machine Operators.
• Enforce safety policies, PPE requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Production Lead is responsible for providing day-to-day direction and support to Copper Machine Operators to ensure production schedules, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational goals are met. This position serves as a lead resource on the production floor, coordinating work assignments, monitoring production progress, identifying issues, and communicating delays or concerns to Production Management. The Production Lead will also support training, troubleshooting, process improvement, and effective communication across shifts.

Primary Job Respo nsibilities:

• Provide daily direction and guidance to Copper Machine Operators to ensure production priorities and scheduled completion dates are met.
• Immediately communicate production delays, equipment issues, material shortages, quality concerns, or schedule risks to Production Management.
• Assign and coordinate work among Copper Machine Operators based on production priorities and employee capabilities.
• Verify that team members are properly logged into the appropriate PPCC job for each product being produced.
• Monitor machine operations and production processes to identify issues that may affect productivity, quality, or schedule.
• Assist operators with machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and basic problem‑solving as needed.
• Ensure quality and drawing requirements are understood and followed by team members.
• Work closely with Quality and other departments to identify and resolve production or quality issues.
• Promote accurate and consistent production practices, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a neat, organized, and clean production area and ensure team members follow housekeeping expectations.
• Support the training and development of Copper Machine Operators, including proper machine operation, work instructions, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
• Enforce all applicable safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to lead, direct, and coordinate the work of others. Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot production and equipment‑related issues and determine when escalation is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including through email, Basecamp, PPCC, and other company systems.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
• Ability to use basic measurement instruments to verify components meet required specifications.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to prioritize work based on production schedules and changing business needs.
• Ability to delegate tasks and monitor completion.
• Ability to train and provide guidance to production employees.
• Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and other departments.
• Positive and professional attitude with the ability to promote teamwork and accountability.
• Ability to follow established procedures and carry out assigned responsibilities in an organized and effective manner.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently required to stand for extended periods and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, keyboards, controls, and machine components.
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and communicate verbally with team members and management.
• May occasionally be required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work around manufacturing equipment and in a production environment.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
