Job summary

OPW Fueling Components, LLC in Smithfield, NC is seeking a Safety Quality Assurance/Production Associate to join our assembly and manufacturing team. The role focuses on achieving daily production goals while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will work with lean initiatives, 5S, and continuous improvement programs to optimize the production process, train staff, and ensure compliance with drawings and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Meet and maintain daily production rates and goals.
• Monitor efficient production flow to meet area requirements.
• Schedule and track production per instructions.
• Complete required cell activities and supervisor-guided documentation.
• Follow standard work instructions.
• Raise quality and safety concerns through proper channels.
• Inspect own/others' work for accuracy per drawings.
• Attend required training and mentor others.
• Support training of production staff.
• Identify and complete re-work as needed; report issues.
• Demonstrate understanding of equipment and troubleshooting.
• Report production abnormalities promptly.
• Keep supervisor informed on quality, parts, and safety.
• Maintain clean, organized, safe work environment (5S).
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Apply Lean concepts to improve processes.
• Uphold ethics and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to those responsibilities and essential job functions associated with roles in assembly, molding, shipping, receiving, and new product development.

• Meet and maintain daily production rates & goals as established and required by the company.
• Evaluate and monitor an efficient movement of production to meet area requirements.
• Schedule, and monitor the production, following company instructions.
• Complete, all required cell activities and documentation for assigned work cell as requested by supervisor.
• Follow processes dictated by the standard work instructions.
• Address all quality and safety concerns via the appropriate channel for an assigned cell.
• Conducts Inspections of own and /or other associates' work to ensure correctness in accordance with company and /or customer drawing.
• Attend all required training.
• Train all production staff.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
• Complete re-work and repair activities as needed and as requested by the Supervisor.
• Demonstrate an understanding of equipment functionality within the scope of responsibility.
• Demonstrate an ability to trouble shoot equipment within the scope of responsibility.
• Report any production abnormalities as they arise within cells under the assigned scope of responsibility.
• Keep supervisor informed of cell activity including but not limited to information related to quality, parts supply, and safety issues that may occur within the scope of responsibility.
• Assure the work environment is clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards (5S).
• Participate in all required continuous improvement activities as requested or required by the company.
• Utilize Lean concepts and provided tool tools to improve the production process.
• Assure the work environment is clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards at all times.
• Actively participate in all department projects, tasks, and objectives including but not limited to continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain the highest ethical standards as well as absolute personal and intellectual integrity, mature judgment, and innate cooperative nature.
