Job summary

Compana Pet Brands in Omaha, NE seeks a 1st Shift Production Lead to oversee daily manufacturing operations and lead a small crew on the 1st shift. You will monitor schedules, manage staffing, and ensure safety and quality standards are met while driving continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in production, at least 1 year in a leadership role, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. On-site work with a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent preferred.
• 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• At least one year of leadership experience leading teams, projects, or initiatives.
• Become certified operator in the work center within 60 days.
• Ability to work with hay and hay-based products.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Lift up to 50 pounds (100-pound requirement for bulk).
• Ability to bend, twist, stoop, push, pull and walk on uneven surfaces.
• Must understand and follow written and spoken English instructions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production schedules, adjust staffing and resources to ensure on-time delivery.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Identify and address production-related issues or bottlenecks promptly.
• Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to implement process improvements and training programs.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
• Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, and other key metrics.
• Close out production work orders and complete required documentation.

Hours: M-TH 5:45 am - 4:15 pm, Fridays as needed

As our Production Lead, you’ll make an impact by:

• Ability to work with hay and hay-based products.
• Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
• Lift up to 50 pounds (100-pound requirement for bulk), with some overhead lifting)
• Ability to bend, twist stoop, push, pull and walk acrossx uneven surfaces while working.
• To better ensure the operational performance and safety of the business and the individual, the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English is required.
