Job summary

National Beef in North Baltimore, Ohio is seeking a Production Lead to oversee shift production operations and maintain a safe, efficient work environment. You will coach and train staff to produce high-quality products while reducing waste and ensuring compliance with GMP/HACCP standards.

The role requires strong communication, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to work on-site with a team. This is a safety-sensitive, on-site position with competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn basic MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to read a thermometer and measuring devices.
• Basic math and writing skills are required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and push/pull up to 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for shift production operations.
• Maintains a safe environment for employees to perform their jobs.
• Coach, train and instruct employees to produce a quality product and eliminate waste.
• Monitor performances based on expectations.
• Relay information daily to Lead Manufacturing Manager and other supervisors.
• Oversees assigned processing activities to meet quality standards and regulations.
• Maintain GMP, HACCP, and LOTO standards as applicable.
• Develop and evaluate employees in assigned areas to ensure SOPs are followed safely.
• Maintain manpower placement sheets and overtime/ training sheets as directed.
• Ensure consistent flow of materials to maximize efficiency and throughput; investigate production issues to reduce waste.
• Maintain a safe work environment and area cleanliness.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Production Lead responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for shift production operations
• Maintains a safe environment in which employees can perform their jobs as required
• Coach, train and instruct employees on how to consistently produce a quality product, while eliminating waste
• Monitor performances based on expectations
• Relay information daily to Lead Manufacturing Manager and other supervisors
• Oversees assigned processing activities, keeping consistent with our quality standards, federal and state regulations
• Maintaining and meeting the criteria set by Customers and National Beef in relationship to our current GMP and HACCP, and LOTO standards
• Facilitate, develop and evaluate employees in assigned areas to make sure that our standard operating procedures are being followed in a safe and consistent manner. Train and coach employees as needed
• Maintain manpower placement sheets daily, post overtime sheets and qualified training sheets as directed by the Lead Manufacturing Manager when needed
• Maintain the consistent flow of processing raw materials to produce maximum efficiency, quality and throughput. Investigate and monitor production problems to help reduce and/or eliminate waste
• Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment as it relates to plant policies and safety standards
• Maintain cleanliness in work area
• Other duties as assigned

This is a safety sensitive position. This position is on-site.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Production Lead position should possess the following:

• Good verbal and written communications skills; Good listening skills
• Ability to learn basic to intermediate applications in MS office, Excel Word and Power Point
• Ability to learn all production departments and how they operate and function
• Ability to recognize product defects
• Ability to read a thermometer and measuring devices
• Basic math skills
• Basic writing skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read
• Ability to work closely with Supervision
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Ability to push/pull up to 60 lbs
• Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, squat, twist and turn at waist, reach above shoulders, reach forward, stand for extended periods of time, walk
• Possess average dexterity in hands/fingers
