Job summary

Wilsoncompany is seeking a Production Lead to coordinate day-to-day production, maintain schedules, and drive jobs to completion. This hands-on role works alongside the production team to ensure orders meet quality and timing requirements.

The ideal candidate will read drawings, manage priorities across Production, Engineering, Customer Service, and Warehouse, and mentor operators while ensuring safety and process discipline on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hydraulic/fluid power experience preferred.

Description

The Production Lead coordinates the day-to-day production process to ensure customer orders are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. This is a highly hands‑on role that works alongside the production team while maintaining the production schedule and board, coordinating priorities, and ensuring jobs move through the process to completion.

Duties/Responsibilities

Production Planning & Coordination

• Maintain the daily production schedule and production board based on customer requirements, due dates, and available resources.
• Coordinate the flow of work from order receipt through completion.
• Monitor job progress and follow up on outstanding work to keep production on schedule.
• Identify delays, material shortages, or technical issues and take action to keep work moving.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Customer Service, Sales, and Warehouse as needed to resolve issues.
• Manage multiple jobs and adjust priorities as business needs change.
• Drive production jobs and projects through completion.

Hands‑On Production

• Work alongside production associates and remain actively involved in daily production activities.
• Assemble hydraulic hoses, filters, and other fluid power products according to specifications and work instructions.
• Perform cutting, crimping, assembly, testing, and inspection activities.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, work orders, and assembly instructions.
• Troubleshoot production and assembly issues and provide hands‑on support when needed.
• Verify completed work for accuracy, quality, and customer requirements.

Production Process, Safety & Quality

• Monitor the production process to ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately, and according to established procedures.
• Ensure production associates have the tools, materials, information, and support needed to complete their work.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow, productivity, quality, and turnaround time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
• Follow and reinforce safety policies, proper PPE use, and established quality procedures.
• Address safety, quality, and production concerns and communicate significant issues to the Production Manager.

Team Support & Communication

• Serve as a day-to-day technical and process resource for production associates.
• Provide hands‑on training and guidance on assembly processes, equipment, quality, and standard work.
• Communicate production priorities, schedule changes, and job requirements clearly.
• Provide the Production Manager with updates on production progress, issues, and resource needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong hands‑on mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Experience with hydraulic hose, filter, or fluid power assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work orders.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to drive jobs through completion.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust to changing customer and production needs.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use company systems for production tracking and documentation.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in hydraulic, pneumatic, fluid power, manufacturing, or related production environments.
• Experience with hose, filter, or fluid power assembly preferred.
• Experience coordinating production schedules, projects, or workflow preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, and pull.
• Frequent use of hands and arms for assembly and production activities.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavier materials with assistance.
• Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment and in a loud production environment.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and remain actively involved in hands‑on production activities.

Salary Range: $24/hr - $28/hr, or approximately $50,000.00 to $58,250.00 annually

• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and acceptable motor vehicle record, as well as possession of a valid driver’s license prior to start date.
