Job summary

Power Probe Group Inc. is seeking a Production Lead in Charlotte, NC to coordinate daily production activities and guide the team to meet output, quality, and delivery goals.

Job description

Position Summary

The Production Lead is responsible for coordinating daily production activities and leading the production team to safely achieve output, quality, and delivery requirements. This position owns daily line planning and sequencing across assembly, specialty assembly, and packaging while ensuring staffing, materials, work instructions, and production priorities remain aligned.

The Production Lead monitors line performance in real time, addresses production constraints, develops team members, and works closely with Production Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve issues that could affect production flow or customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Own daily production line planning, sequencing, and execution across assembly, specialty assembly, and packaging to meet established production targets.
• Supervise, coach, and develop production employees, including Assemblers, Specialty Assemblers, and Production Associates – Packaging.
• Assign work and balance staffing across production stations based on daily priorities, employee qualifications, workload, and production requirements.
• Monitor production output and line performance throughout the day and take timely action to address bottlenecks, staffing gaps, material shortages, equipment issues, or other constraints.
• Ensure employees follow approved work instructions, production processes, ESD requirements, quality standards, and safety procedures.
• Track and communicate daily and weekly production performance against plan, including output, delays, constraints, and recovery actions.
• Coordinate with Production Planning and Supply Chain to ensure production priorities and material availability support the daily build schedule.
• Partner with the Manufacturing Process Engineer on work instructions, process changes, line layouts, tooling, equipment, and manufacturing improvements.
• Partner with the Quality Lead and Quality team to address defects, nonconformances, recurring quality issues, and corrective actions affecting production.
• Escalate significant production, material, quality, equipment, staffing, or safety risks to the Director of Manufacturing & Supply Chain.
• Support employee cross-training and skills development to improve production flexibility and coverage across manufacturing stations.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient production floor and reinforce company expectations for housekeeping, PPE, ESD compliance, attendance, and workplace conduct.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, technical training, or related coursework preferred.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, electronics assembly, or a related environment.
• Prior team lead, supervisory, or demonstrated production leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to plan and prioritize daily production work, allocate resources, and respond effectively to changing production requirements.
• Strong understanding of production workflow, quality expectations, safety requirements, and standard manufacturing practices.
• Ability to identify production constraints, troubleshoot operational issues, and coordinate timely resolution with support functions.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining accountability for production performance.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in electronics, automotive-related, or other quality-controlled manufacturing environments.
• Experience supervising or leading assembly, soldering, testing, calibration, repair, or packaging operations.
• Experience with ERP/MRP, production tracking, or manufacturing systems, including SAP.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, line balancing, or productivity improvement.
