Job summary

Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc. in Texas is seeking an on-site sanitation worker to clean floors, move waste, and support line changeovers. You will be trained to handle chemicals safely and to operate a pallet jack for moving barrels and skids.

The role requires reliability, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and adherence to GMP and QA standards. PPE is provided by the company and safety protocols are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Prefer High School Diploma or GED.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, self-motivated, minimum supervision.
• Palletjack Certification required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, dump trash, and move waste in production areas.
• Scrape up scrap with a squeegee when product falls.
• Shovel scrap into barrels and load onto a skid for removal.
• Record accurate waste weights and track quantities.
• Move skids with a pallet jack to the sanitation area.
• Remove empty boxes and plastics into proper disposal receptacles.
• Follow training to mix/handle cleaning chemicals for contamination or changeovers.
• Comply with GMP, SSOP, SOP, HACCP, SQF, and QA requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary

Cleans floors, dumps trash carts, move barrels of waste from production area, be able to clean a line with chemicals in the event of contamination or changeovers.

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• When product falls on floor, uses a squeegee to scrape up scrap
• Responsible for shoveling scrap into barrels
• Need to remove barrels from the area when half to ¾ full, by loading barrels onto a skid
• Tracking and recording of accurate waste weights
• Use a palletjack to move skid with barrels to slop area for sanitation to empty
• Take out trash carts full of empty boxes, plastic or other items and put into appropriate disposable containers
• If not already trained, you will need to be willing to be trained on how to use and mix the different chemicals to clean a line for contamination or changeovers
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Temperatures throughout plant average 50 degrees. Temperatures in the cooking area can exceed 80 degrees. Required to wear hairnet, smock, boots or overshoes, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company. Need to comply with Food Safety: GMP’s SSOP, SOP, HACCP, SQF and Quality requirements
