Job summary

Pilgrim’s Pride in Sumter, SC is hiring a Production Hourly team member to process product using knives and other equipment, following USDA and company procedures. You will maintain clean work areas and work closely with teammates in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, the ability to stand for 8–11 hours, multitask, and communicate effectively. Prior food or production experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to stand and work 8-11 hours per day in cool temperatures (~40°F).
• Must be a team player and able to work close to others.

Responsibilities

• Processes product using tools (to include knives), manual labor, and equipment provided in accordance with USDA and Pilgrim’s Company product standards and procedures.
• Processes product according to operating procedures and quality/quantity expectations.
• Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns.
• Cleans and maintains an organized work area.
• Assists others with the skills and knowledge gained from the position.
• Observes all company policies and safety guidelines.
• Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks; maintains safe work habits.
• Participates in process improvement and problem solving using continuous improvement methodologies.
• Follows all company animal welfare guidelines.
• Other duties as directed.
