Job summary

Schuff Steel Co. is seeking an entry-level Production Helper for the Phoenix, AZ shop. The role supports fabrication crews, loads and moves metal pieces, and assists in maintaining a clean, safe work area on the second shift.

Prior GED or high school diploma plus some manual labor experience is expected. Responsibilities include handling stock, operating basic shop tools, and complying with safety rules and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and/or 12 months experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
• Pass the tacking test on Flat, Horizontal, Vertical and Overhead.

Responsibilities

• Lifts, positions, and removes workpieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding.
• Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies, and work in process by hand or truck.
• Cleans and scrapes metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping.
• Picks up and trucks scrap from work areas.
• Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
• Perform other routine duties.
• Assist fellow employees as directed.

Core Responsibilities
