Job summary

National Wire LLC in Conroe, TX is seeking a production helper to assist with the manufacturing process. This role requires regular communication and strong teamwork to ensure production is met, including loading and unloading material to and from the machine, tying finished product, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates will have forklift and overhead crane experience, the ability to work with English or Spanish communication, and be adaptable to a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with production line in facility.
• Maintain clean and orderly production area.
• Load and unload material from machines, carts, and dollies; forklift or overhead crane.
• Feed or place material onto equipment for processing.
• Tie and/or strap down finished product for shipping.
• Remove waste material from machine.
• Communicate with supervisor, production control, quality and other shop personnel.
• Keep equipment and work area clean; perform basic preventative maintenance.
• Adhere to state and federal law, Quality Program and Safety Regulations.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose:

The production helper is responsible for assisting with the manufacturing process in the facilities. This position requires regular communication and exceptional teamwork with fellow coworkers to ensure production is met. The production helper is expected to assist the Machine Operator run the machine by loading and unloading material and product to and from the machine; tie or strap down finished product and assist with other general duties as assigned.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with production line in facility.
• Maintain clean and orderly production area.
• Load and unload material from machines, carts, and dollies manually or by use of equipment, such as forklift or overhead crane.
• Feed or place material onto equipment for processing.
• Pull damaged or ineffective equipment off the line.
• Remove product from machine and place on cart or dollies.
• Tie and/or strap down finished product for shipping and receiving.
• Remove waste material from machine.
• Communicates with supervisor, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments.
• Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
• Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.
• May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

QualificationsEssential Skills, Experience and Education:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a general helper/laborer.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a production, manufacturing, or industrial facility.
• Must be able to use forklift and overhead crane.
• Must be able to communicate in English or Spanish(both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
• Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift, carry, pull and push 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Regularly squat, stoop, bend at waist, turn at waist to complete function above.
• Requires regular climbing.
• Able to wear required PPE, not limited to: steel toe boots, gloves, safety glasses and hard-hat.

• This position will work in an industrial, non-climate controlled setting
