Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Portland, OR, is seeking skilled assemblers to join our gate assembly team. You will inspect, prepare, and assemble complex gating systems using torches, hot pencils, and various hand tools.

You will read technique cards, determine methods, weld gates, modify gates for proper fit, and inspect finished work to ensure quality. Safety and teamwork are essential in this role.

Job description

MISSION:

To assemble complex gating systems in a varied and non-repetitive fashion to produce mold forms to be invested.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNT ABILITIES:

A. Preparation

Objective: to inspect patterns and determine assembly methods.

Typical Activities:

• Pre-inspects pattern and gating components prior to start of assembly.
• Reads and follows technique card assembly instructions, which describe numerous unique assembly steps of a complex nature; plans the methods for completing a given assignment and selects among alternative assembly methods.
