Silgan Plastics Corporation is seeking a forklift operator to perform material handling in our facility in Ohio. You will operate both fork and clamp attachments, transport goods, and assist with necessary paperwork, while maintaining safety and accuracy in inventory scans.

Responsibilities include loading and unloading trailers, inspecting work areas for hazards, and keeping the workspace clean and compliant with safety rules.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds continuously throughout the shift.
• Forklift license or ability to obtain one is required.

Operate a Forklift in a safe and responsible manner. Read and understand all operational and safety rules and guidelines provided during forklift license training. Operate both fork and clamp attachments. Transport finished goods and raw materials as directed. Load and unload semi-trailers and complete/assist with the necessary paperwork and communications as directed. Understand and use all scanning equipment required to perform job. Maintain and update status of inventory information through scans, written or logged as necessary. Lift and carry containers as needed. Lift and carry packaging such as pallets, shrink wrap, etc as needed. Communicate in a professional manner with supervisor, coordinators & co-workers as necessary. Assist other departments as needed. Perform other duties as directed. Evaluates and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines. Inspect work areas, and look for unsafe acts/conditions. Effectively use verbal and written communications. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Perform sweeping, cleaning, sorting duties as necessary. Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures. Perform all requirements of all driving; including P&G.

AUTHORITY LEVEL (if applicable): EDUCATION: Required: High School diploma or GED equivalent SKILLS: Required: Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds continuously throughout the shift. Work involves continuous lifting, bending, reaching and twisting.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (if applicable)

• Obtain or be able to obtain a Forklift Driver’s License.
• This position requires the cognitive and mental ability to multitask in a fast paced environment with attention to detail.
