Job summary

Essity North America Inc. seeks an Industrial Technician to drive production quality, reliability, and efficiency by maintaining equipment and processes.

You will execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance while troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and maximize output. The role collaborates with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to optimize performance, support new technologies, and apply structured problem‑solving tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, chemical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience understanding preventive maintenance schedules.
• 1+ years of experience in industrial operations or related technical environment.
• Experience in manufacturing, consumer products, chemical processing, or heavy industrial operations preferred.
• Experience with process optimization, data analysis, and operational performance improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety practices and promote a culture of safety among team members.
• Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Set, monitor and improve processes according to Statistical Process Control methodologies.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes and suggest repairs to senior technicians.
• Review and support onsite chemical blending operations to ensure compliance with formulations and requirements.
• Monitor critical process parameters to ensure product consistency and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of maintenance planning processes and manufacturing work systems.
• Help plan work assignments considering machine capabilities and production schedules.
• Suggest revisions to operation methods, materials handling, or equipment layout.
• Maintain documentation and communicate repairs to others.
• Participate in improvement projects to reduce maintenance costs and failures.
• Experience with reading mechanical/electrical blueprints is a big plus.
• Support implementation of new technologies, automation systems, and best practices.
