Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. in Dunkirk, NY is seeking a Production Equip Operator to support daily steel manufacturing operations in a heavy industrial setting.

This union position offers wage progression, health insurance from day one, on-the-job training, and shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts, with overtime opportunities.

Formación

Responsabilidades

• Operate steel production equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload, and transport steel materials (coils, bars, sheets, structural components).
• Perform quality inspections using measuring devices and tools.
• Follow production schedules, work instructions, and safety procedures.
• Assist with machine setup, changeovers, and basic preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals.
• Collaborate with all levels on 5S projects throughout the plant.

Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc., established in 1994, has an opening at their Dunkirk, NY facility. We produce semi-finished and finished specialty steel long products and plate including stainless steel, tool steel, bearing steel, gear steel, and aircraft quality low alloy steels for use in a variety of industries.

Shift: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd (Shift Assignment Based on Seniority & Business Need)
Status: Full-Time

Position Overview

Production Workers support daily steel manufacturing operations while maintaining high safety and quality standards. This is a physically active role in a heavy industrial environment requiring teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate steel production equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
• Load, unload, and transport steel materials (coils, bars, sheets, structural components)
• Perform quality inspections using measuring devices and tools
• Follow production schedules, work instructions, and safety procedures
• Assist with machine setup, changeovers, and basic preventative maintenance

Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Stand and move for extended periods

The starting hourly wage range for this position is $20-$22.50 per hour, based on placement within the union wage scale. Employees progress through a structured wage schedule outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. Pay increases are tied to training completion and job level. Shift Differentials: available for 2nd and 3rd shift. Additional earnings opportunities include overtime pay in accordance with state law.
