Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. in Dunkirk, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep mechanical and hydraulic systems running smoothly across the facility.

You will repair, assemble, and adjust equipment, read blueprints, operate a crane or forklift, and perform welding as needed, with an emphasis on safety and reliability. This is a full-time role with competitive benefits in a steel manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years relevant maintenance experience preferred.
• Mechanical and analytical abilities required.
• Basic welding skills helpful.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints.

Responsabilités

• Maintain and repair mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
• Inspect and repair rolling mills, furnaces, and related systems.
• Assemble, dismantle, and adjust conveyors and mill components.
• Perform welding, cutting, and burning as needed.
• Interpret blueprints and technical sketches.
• Operate overhead crane and forklift to move materials.

Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc., established in 1994, has an opening at their Dunkirk, NY facility. We produce semi-finished and finished specialty steel long products and plate including stainless steel, tool steel, bearing steel, gear steel, and aircraft quality low alloy steels for use in a variety of industries.

Maintenance Technician

Primary Function

• Maintain and repair mechanical and hydraulic equipment in assigned areas, and throughout facility. Full-time

Primary responsibilities include:

• Perform miscellaneous repair work, including but not limited to installing pumps, boiler repair, pipe fitting, etc.
• Inspects, repairs, and maintains facility equipment, including but not limited to rolling mill equipment, furnace mechanical equipment, mechanical shears, annealing equipment.
• Assemble, dismantle and adjust mechanical, and hydraulic equipment, including but not limited to conveyors, mill stands, mill housings, etc.
• Perform welding, cutting, and burning when needed.
• Interprets blueprints, and technical sketches.
• Operate overhead crane and/or fork truck to move supplies and equipment.

Skills/Experience

• 3-5 Years relevant experience preferred
• Mechanical & Analytical ability
• Basic Welding Skills
• Ability to read and interpret schematics

Education/Training

• AS trade school mechanical / electrical disciplines preferred
• Hydraulics / pneumatics / electrical skill sets
• Knowledge of mechanical working in steel-related or industrial environment.
• Must be trained in all areas of mechanical testing and repairs
• Journeyman papers preferred

Salary Range:$25.20 To $34.00 Hourly
