Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment with fluids, fumes, moving parts, noise or vibration.
  • Comfortable with standard office equipment.
  • Full-time position; overtime and weekend work may be required.
  • 0 to 15% travel is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain systems and processes for new or existing products.
  • Develop and maintain testing policies, procedures, and performance metrics.
  • Achieve targeted manufacturing objectives.
  • Investigate, assess, and resolve production problems.
  • Design or procure parts and tools according to product specifications.
  • Understand capabilities of manufacturing tools and equipment.
  • Communicate with suppliers to procure necessary equipment.
  • Bring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to the Marotta organization.
  • Facilitate training, as needed, to maintain a cross‑trained workforce and support operational goals.
  • Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping, and company policies to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal system requirements.
  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels.
  • Participate in team meetings and improvement initiatives to provide constructive recommendations.
  • Demonstrate commitment to company values consistently.
  • Keep management informed of area activities and significant problems.
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
  • Ensure that work area and areas of direct reports are clean, secure, and well maintained.

Overview

The Production Engineering Technician is primarily responsible for assisting the production team in the assembly and maintenance of new and existing test setups. Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, this individual will support the company’s manufacturing and operational objectives by developing, implementing, and maintaining methods, operation sequences, and processes. The role also supports the implementation of process improvements, defect reduction activities, and lean initiatives.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • 0 to 2 years of related experience in a production/operations environment.
  • Attending or completed engineering or trade school for mechanical, electrical, electronics, or HVAC.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or machine shop environment with exposure to typical conditions such as fluids, fumes, moving mechanical parts, noise, and vibration.
  • Comfortable working with standard office equipment (computer, phone, photocopier, filing cabinets, fax machine).
  • Acceptance of temperature variations in the work environment.
  • Full‑time position; overtime and weekend work may be required.
  • 0 to 15% travel is expected.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to talk, hear, and see clearly, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Frequently required to reach, use hands and fingers, and handle or feel objects.
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, or crouch, and move about the facility.
  • May be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
