Job summary

Versant Media is seeking a Production Engineering Support Manager to join the Production Engineering Team. The role blends project management, engineering design/coordination, and operations support across the Versant Media portfolio.

Responsibilities include leading technical projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring reliable on-air production operations in a 24/7 environment, with overtime as needed. This is a full-time onsite position in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of recent TV broadcast industry experience.
• Must understand 24/7 on-air operations for News/Sports/Entertainment.
• Degree in Broadcast and/or Media required.
• Proficient in PC and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Willing to learn new production technologies.
• Willing to work OT including weekends/overnights on short notice.
• Ability to work independently with strong collaboration and deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize and think proactively.

• PM, engineering design/coordination, and operations support for Versant Media projects.

As part of the Versant Media Production Engineering Team, this position is a critical part of successful all engineering projects throughout the Versant Media portfolio of businesses. The position is a mix of project management, engineering design/coordination, and operations support.

Requirements

• 10 years of recent experience in a television broadcast environment.
• Understanding of the 24/7 nature of the on-air News, Sports, and Entertainment environments.
• College Degree in Broadcast and/or Media.
• Strong PC & Microsoft Suite skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn new production technologies.
• Willingness to work overtime including weekends and overnights with short notice.
• Must be able to work independently, yet have strong collaboration skills and meet deadlines.
• Must be able to prioritize and be a pro-active thinker.

Additional Requirements

• Onsite: This position has been designated as onsite, contributing from the office five days per week.
