Manager, Production Engineering
Redwood Materials is seeking a Manager of Production Engineering to play a pivotal role inbuilding outour Battery Materials Campus. The manager will work intimately with the team to managehigh-visibility/value projects and will apply technical / leadership skills toassurethetimelyand efficient execution of the projects.
The final job title and level will bedeterminedbased on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities will include:
- Build and lead engineering teams thatwork inclosely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure that our processesare:safe,sustainableand profitable.
- Use data to set strategy for optimization,debottleneckingand improvement of industrial scale processes
- Define engineering workflows and plans for the team.
- Lead design concept/development efforts, working directly with engineers to vet/validatemultiple different proposed solutions.
- Leading andparticipatingin cross-functional teams to develop equipment
- Leading andparticipatingin research and development to meet strategic objectives
- Finalize design scope frominitialconcepts and budgets, define initial assumptions.
- Partner with the project management team toidentifyand document all project design milestones and deliverables.
- Continuouslymonitorand measure all project design processes and activities toidentifyand communicate potential issues, risks, and problems andprovidecorrective action options to drive to resolution.
- Serve as a final reviewer for all designs, ensuring simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and functionality/robustness.
Desired Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering
- 7+ years of Experience in industrial chemical processing or metallurgical operations
- Experience with large capital project planning and budgeting
- Experience in the preparation of mechanical contract drawings and engineering specifications.
- Track recordof successfully leading teams
- Self motivatedwith ahands onapproach who takes the initiative
- Strong written and verbal communication
- A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Mustmaintainregular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards.
- Mustbe able to communicate clearly.
Working Conditions:
- Split work environment between office and the production facility.
- Work may involve extended periods of working in the production facility.
- Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time.
- May require occasional work weekends or alternate shifts to support production needs.
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
